Author Guidelines

Authors are required to carefully review and comply with the journal’s submission, formatting, and publication requirements before submitting their manuscripts.

Submissions should adhere to the following standards:

  • The manuscript must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • The submission must be prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
  • The manuscript should follow a clear structure, including Title, Abstract, Keywords, Main Text, and References (where applicable).
  • Citations must strictly follow the OSCOLA (Oxford Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities) citation style.
  • The manuscript must be anonymized to ensure a double-blind peer review process.
  • The language of submission must be clear, formal, and academic, with preference for British English.

Upon acceptance, authors will be required to submit the final version of the manuscript containing author details, institutional affiliations, acknowledgements (where applicable), and any additional information requested by the Editorial Office.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements:

Research Articles

This section publishes original, high-quality, peer-reviewed Research Articles presenting comprehensive and in-depth legal scholarship. It includes long-form research articles and, where appropriate, submissions in Legislative and Policy Analysis and Interdisciplinary and Empirical Studies, depending on their nature and scope.

Manuscripts should demonstrate originality, rigorous legal analysis, critical engagement with existing scholarship, and a meaningful contribution to legal research and jurisprudence.

Short Articles

This section publishes concise, well-structured, peer-reviewed Short Articles addressing specific legal issues, recent judicial or legislative developments, and emerging areas of law. These submissions are expected to provide focused legal analysis while maintaining academic rigor and scholarly quality.

Manuscripts should present original arguments, critical evaluation, and meaningful engagement with relevant legal authorities and contemporary scholarship within a shorter format.

Case Comments

This section publishes peer-reviewed Case Comments and Case Reviews offering critical analysis of significant judicial decisions delivered by constitutional courts, supreme courts, high courts, tribunals, and international judicial bodies.

Manuscripts should examine the facts, legal issues, judicial reasoning, and ratio decidendi of the decision, while critically evaluating its implications for law, jurisprudence, and future legal developments. Submissions are expected to present clear, well-reasoned, and scholarly legal analysis.

Book Reviews

This section publishes peer-reviewed Book Reviews offering critical and scholarly evaluations of recently published books in the fields of law, legal theory, jurisprudence, and allied disciplines.

Manuscripts should identify the central arguments of the book, critically assess its methodology, contribution, and overall scholarly value, and evaluate its relevance to contemporary legal research and legal scholarship.

By submitting a manuscript to Juris Spectrum: International Journal of Law, the author(s) acknowledge that they have read and agree to the journal’s Copyright and Publication Policies.
